Lakeport Cluster Association
Named Community Association of the Year
by the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute
Lakeport Cluster Association, which is located along Reston’s Lake Thoreau, not only is in a beautiful tree-filled shoreline location but also supports a vibrant, diverse community of 82 townhomes. Residents gather for dock parties, chat at the central Triangle Park, and enjoy quarterly TGIFs, Easter Egg Hunts, a book club, and more. Residents use the Reston Association’s trail, next to Lakeport’s dock, to walk to the adjacent South Lakes Village Center with its Safeway, CVS, Starbucks, restaurants, and other convenient stores and services. Walking five minutes in the other direction takes you to a Reston pool. It’s only a five-minute drive (or 15-minute walk) to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station; 10 minutes to Reston Town Center with its abundance of stores, movie theater, and restaurants; and a 15-minute drive to Dulles airport. Because of these and many other features, the local chapter of the Community Associations Institute recognized Lakeport as their 2019 small Community of the Year.
Lakeport homes feature open-floor plans all with decks overlooking either the lake or natural spaces. Residents can take advantage of boating, fishing, or just relaxing next to the lake where th ey can appreciate the beauty of their unique location. You can see why residents like to say, “Lakeport is not just a neighborhood - it is a way of life.”
