According to WTOP radio, this is the largest snowfall for the Washington metro area ever recorded, with Dulles Airport reporting 32.4 inches. Snow removal crews started in the middle of the night and should be done clearing the 4-6″ of snow from our streets and parking areas. Don’t expect sanding, because most areas uncovered old sand.
