By Pete Hatfield, Landscape Committee Chair
We have completed a competition for common area tree trimming and selected Thrive SaveATree as the vendor. A long list of trees was identified and prioritized by the arborist after walk-throughs with board members and the Landscape Committee chair plus input from the community. The Board reviewed his recommendations and is currently in the process of finalizing the Statement of Work with the arborist. Trees that will not be addressed this year due to budget constraints will be considered when we contract for tree work next year.
We have also arranged for Thrive to be here on the afternoon of Saturday, August 5, to meet with owners who have submitted requests to receive recommendations and proposals for private tree work at a reduced rate. If you have not yet indicated your interest in receiving a quote for trees on your property, please send your name, address, e-mail, and as complete a description of the work you want done as possible to Pete Hatfield, Chair of Lakeport’s Landscape Committee, at pete_hatfield@yahoo.com.
In addition, we are in the process of receiving bids for landscaping services and snow removal. Requests for Proposals have been sent out to 16 potential bidders, with awards to be made in the fall. The snow removal contract will begin November 1, 2017, and the new landscaping service January 1, 2018. We have also already received proposals for landscaping the area adjacent to the new dock. Once the dock is completed, we will finalize a landscape plan and select a landscaper to implement it.
